Our Holy Prophet (S.A.W) has taught us the true way of conducting our businesses. If we follow the teaching of Rasoolullah (S.A.W), we cannot fail. We will not only succeed in this world but also in the hereafter.

May Allah (S.W.T) give us the ability to follow the Sunnah’s of our Beloved Prophet (S.A.W). Ameen.

Birth of the Prophet Muhammad is an event that is unequaled in the history of mankind, because its presence has opened a new era in the development of world civilization and even the universe (Rahmatul-lil’alamin 21: 107) He was the last messenger of Allah SWT as the bearer of goodness and benefit for all mankind. The success of the Prophet Muhammad has been much discussed by historians, historians both Islamic and Western historians. One side of the success of the Prophet Muhammad is his work as a trader (entrepreneur). However, the life of the Prophet Muhammad as traders and entrepreneurs received less attention among scholars on the momentum of the Prophet’s birthday. In fact, he said: “His reputation as an honest and truthful trader was well established while he was still in his early youth”.

Based on the writings Afzalurrahman above, it is known that the Prophet Muhammad was a merchant who is honest and fair in making a business agreement. He never makes customers complain. He often keep its promise and hand over the goods in a timely message. He always showed a great sense of responsibility and high integrity with anyone. His reputation as an honest merchant and really has been widely known since he was young.

The basics of ethics and management of the business, has received religious legitimacy after he was appointed as the Prophet. The principles of business ethics who inherited increasingly justified academically at the end of the 20th century or the beginning of the 21st century. Principles of modern business, such as customer objectives and customer satisfaction (customer satisfaction), superior service (Service Excellence), competence, efficiency, transparency, fair competition and competitive, everything has become a picture of personal and business ethics Muhammad when he was younger .

In his day, he became a pioneer of trade based on the principles of honesty, fair business transactions, and healthy. He did not hesitate to socialize in the form of direct education and unequivocal statement to the traders. By the time he became head of state, law enforcement actually enforced to the businessmen naughty. He is also the introduction of the principle of “Facta Sur servanda” which we know as the main principle in the civil law and the agreement. As mentioned earlier, that the residents of Makkah itself called him Al-Siddiq (truthful) and Al-Amin (trustworthy). Al-Amin designation is given to him in his capacity as a trader. Not surprisingly, Khadijah r.a was considered as a reliable partner and profitable, so he sent him on several trade trips to various markets in North and South with its capital. In the world of management, the word actually used by Peter Drucker to define the meaning of efficiency and effectiveness. Efficiency means doing things right (do thing right), while effectiveness is doing the right thing (do the right thing).

Efficiency emphasis on austerity in the use of inputs to produce a given output. This effort is realized through the application of theoretical concepts and proper management. While the emphasis on the effectiveness of the level of achievement of the above objectives are realized through the implementation of leadership and the selection of appropriate strategies.

The principle of efficiency and effectiveness is used to measure the success of a business. This principle encourages academics and practitioners to find different ways, techniques and methods that can realize the level of efficiency and effectiveness as high. The more efficient and effective a company, the more competitive the company.
